Residents in the First Ward summoned borough police at 12:56 a.m. Sunday to report that a woman could be heard wailing throughout the area.

Officers found Elizabeth Stauffer — following the screams that neighbors heard from a block away — at 50 N. Coulter Ave., where she was bellowing due to being locked out of her house, according to a report.

Police cited Stauffer, 22, with a summary count of disorderly conduct.

Kenneth Alcott, 35, of Indiana, was cited with public drunkenness at 9:06 p.m. Thursday after borough officers discovered him intoxicated in the 600 block of Gompers Avenue, according to a report.

Theft

A former employee at Boomies bar is suspected of stealing cash from the business at 11:03 p.m. June 20, Indiana Borough police reported. Investigators said the theft was recorded on surveillance video. Charges have not yet been filed.

White Township

Shoplifting

Sarah Erdley, 32, of Indiana, was lodged at the Indiana County Jail after being accused of stealing merchandise at 3:38 p.m. Friday from Walmart in SouthTowne Plaza, state police reported.

Store employees halted Erdley as she exited the store with 12 items of unpurchased goods in a shopping cart, and summoned state police, according to the report.

State police reported that a Marion Center woman was caught by Walmart employees in an attempt to leave the store at 4:58 p.m. Thursday without having scanned or paid for all items in her cart.

Charges against the suspect could not be confirmed today.

Theft

A 27-year-old Saltsburg-area man is suspected of stealing a guitar from his roommate and pawning it at the Mohney-Piraino second-hand store along Philadelphia Street in Indiana, state police reported today.

Allen Lambrecht, of New Alexandria, told troopers that an Ovations brand guitar in a black case disappeared July 2 while he was staying at 172 Rearick Road.

Charges against the suspect could not be confirmed this morning.

Fraud

State police at Indiana investigated a Commodore man’s report that he was a victim of fraud Saturday at 969 Vanderbilt St. Investigators withheld the man’s name and gave no details of the matter.

Salem Township, Westmoreland County

Theft

A former worker at Tropical Sunsations tanning salon at 6750 Hollywood Blvd. is believed to have stolen money from several patrons’ wallets while they were in tanning rooms between June 28 and Friday, state police said today.

A Blairsville woman, 49, and two others from Westmoreland County, were among the victims, according to a report.

Police withheld the names of the victims and the suspect, who has not yet been charged.

Young Township, Jefferson County

DUI

State police charged Jams Milligan, 71, of Punxsutawney, with driving under the influence and two summary traffic violations during a traffic stop at 9:46 p.m. June 14 on Sportsburg Road at Lenyok Road.

Troopers filed a complaint Wednesday at Punxsutawney District Court, where a hearing has been set for Aug. 20.
