Public drunkenness

A 23-year-old man from Saudi Arabia was cited for public drunkenness at 2:19 a.m. today.

Indiana Borough police said he was found to be intoxicated inside a store in the 300 block of Philadelphia Street.

Retail theft

A 23-year-old Bedford man was arrested for retail theft and public drunkenness at 3:01 a.m. today.

Police said they responded to a report of a male shoplifter in the 700 block of Wayne Avenue and the suspect was identified at Weyant.


Prison harassment

State police at Indiana said felony charges have been filed against two inmates in separate incidents Wednesday at the State Correctional Institution at Pine Grove.

In one incident, troopers said the inmate threw a food tray and a container of urine on a guard. In the other, troopers said the inmate spat on a guard.


State police at Indiana cited Linda Krecota, 68, of Home, for not reporting an accident Thursday at 10:38 a.m. involving a parked vehicle in the lot at 879 Hospital Road.

State police said summary charges were filed with Homer City Magisterial District Judge Susanne V. Steffee after Krecota put her sport utility vehicle in reverse and struck the rear passenger side bumper area of an adjacent parked vehicle.

Troopers said Krecota then fled the scene and was later located.


State police at Indiana said a 24-year-old Export man is facing DUI charges after a traffic stop at 1:14 p.m. Feb. 16.

Officer Lindsey Fleck said the man was stopped for a vehicle code violation near Centennial Drive and Warren Road.

Fleck reported there was an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

After conduction standard field sobriety tests, the man was placed under arrest for DUI.


Cat shot

State police at Indiana said a cat was shot at approximately 4 p.m. Saturday in the area of 2083 Coal Run Road.

Troopers said the assailant fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.

Drugs found

State police at Kittanning said charges are pending against a 31-year-old Rural Valley man who was stopped Thursday at 8:10 p.m. on the northbound lanes of Route 28.

Troopers said a traffic stop found the driver to be impaired by alcohol and a controlled substance, and a probable cause search that followed turned up multiple forms of marijuana and associated paraphernalia.

Troopers said charges would be filed with Ford City Magisterial District Judge J. Gary DeComo.


Drug overdose

State police at Kiski Valley investigated a medical emergency incident in which a 37-year-old Latrobe man is suspected of having overdosed on heroin.

The incident occurred at 12:35 a.m. today in the area of Wood Street.
