Both were charged with felony criminal trespass and misdemeanor defiant trespass and were placed in the Indiana County Jail in lieu of $5,000 apiece.
Meth, pot bust
The Clymer Borough Police Department reported that Officer Hunter J. Scherf stopped a vehicle Monday night near the 600 block of Franklin Street for running a red light.
Police said Scherf asked the man driving the vehicle, whose name was not released, to step out of it after the officer detected a strong smell of marijuana.
The Clymer department said a subsequent search turned up three bags of suspected methamphetamine, a large bag of marijuana, miscellaneous small and large bags used for packaging the meth, $1,310 in cash, a cellphone and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
Police said the suspected meth weighed approximately 20 grams and would have a street value of $2,000. The Clymer department said charges are pending further investigation.
Police said it was not known if Monday’s incident is related to a seizure on Sunday of methamphetamine in the borough. Borough officials said citizens should always report suspected drug activity to Clymer police and the Indiana County Drug Task Force.
