They don't know who she is.
But a second person has reported receiving a Christmas card with $100 cash from an anonymous woman at the Indiana Mall on Friday.
Brenda Shirley, of Indiana, said she and her husband, Tim, were at the Four Footed Friends and Indiana County Humane Society booths in the mall between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. Friday when the woman approached them.
"A lady came out of nowhere. The lady handed us a card that said 'open me,'" Shirley said. "We looked up and she was gone."
Shirley said they will use the cash to help with groceries and supplies.
"It couldn't have come at a better time," she said. "It made our day."
Last week, Dave Brozick, of Blairsville, told of how a woman had dropped a similar Christmas card in his lap while shopping with his aide on Friday at the mall. Like Shirley's card, his said "open me," and there was $100 inside.
He was at the calendar display in the mall when it happened.
Sherry Renosky, mall manager, said she does not know who the woman is and hadn't heard about it until she read about Brozick in Sunday's edition. "It's such a nice gesture," she said. "Basically it's a wonderful thing this time of year."
As for the Shirleys, they want the woman to know they're grateful.
"I just wanted to thank her," Shirley said.
