MARION CENTER — Marion Center Area High School’s pottery II students have been making bowls in class to donate to “The Empty Bowls” fundraiser to benefit the Indiana County Community Action Program’s food bank on Tuesday.

The Empty Bowls is a nationwide 501(c)(3) organization that has helped millions of hungry people. Participating in this project from Marion Center are Joy Beatty, Jordan Bellman, Kacy Blystone, Amanda Fiechuck, Chloe Frye, Afton Herring, Breanna Mumau, Desiree Pennington, Jessica Raire, Andrea Rearick, Krista Shellhammer, Brittany Smith and Megan Wise.

The fundraiser will take place at The Artists Hand Gallery on Philadelphia Street in downtown Indiana from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday. For $15, individuals get to choose a handmade bowl filled with soup, along with bread and cookies. Each person gets to keep the bowl they pick out.

The community is encouraged to stop by to get their very own handmade bowl filled with good food and support a good cause in the process.
