Akec Khoc Aciew, ambassador to the United States from the Republic of South Sudan, will speak on Wednesday at Indiana University of Pennsylvania about the issues his nation faces today. The lecture, “South Sudan: Achievements and Challenges of a New Nation,” will begin at 6 p.m. in Stouffer Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. Attendance vouchers will be provided for students.
The East African nation of South Sudan gained independence from Sudan in July 2011. The ambassador will discuss the process through which his nation was born and outline a way to the future.
