A man was flown by medical helicopter after crashing his vehicle into a tree on Route 286 about a mile past the state police barracks sometime before 4:15 a.m. today, said Scott Schuller, the Indiana Fire Association’s first assistant chief.
Schuller did not have any information about the man, and state police had not issued a report this morning. But Schuller said emergency workers removed both driver’s side doors to free the man, and that he was conscious and talking. The call came in from a passerby around 4:15 a.m., Schuller said. It was unclear when the accident occurred. Citizens’ Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
