Chicken and biscuit dinner :: SPRING CHURCH — A chicken and biscuit dinner will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. today at Spring Church Lutheran Church, Route 56 East, four miles east of Apollo.

The menu includes chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, dessert (pie/cake) and beverage. Donation is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 12. Children ages 5 and under eat free.

Craft fair

PURCHASE LINE — The Plum Spring Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Purchase Line United Methodist Church on Route 286 East.

There will be craft items to browse and purchase, food available and companionship in the activity center.

Yard/bake sale

STARFORD — The Pine Flats Church of God in Starford will hold its annual yard and bake sale until 4 p.m. today at the Morningstar Community Building in Starford. There will be clothing and all types of merchandise for sale, as well as cakes, pies, cookies, candies, breads, rolls and soup. Everyone is welcome to attend. Proceeds benefit the church.

Pasta buffet

PENN RUN — There will be a pasta buffet from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Center Road, Penn Run.

GIRTY — The Zion Methodist Church in Girty is holding a stuffed pork chop and stuffed chicken breast dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. today.

The meal includes pork or chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, noodles, green beans, cole slaw, bread, homemade dessert and a beverage.

The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for ages 4 and younger.

Spaghetti dinner

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — A spaghetti dinner, basket raffle and 50/50 will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Harmony Grove Lutheran Church, 6584 Five Points Road, between Willet and Five Points.

The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for ages 5 and younger.

Proceeds benefit the church basement improvements. Takeout will be available. The menu includes spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and dessert.

Evangelistic meetings

CLYMER — Evangelistic meetings with Dr. Gary Gillmore will be held Sunday to Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, Route 286, two miles east of Clymer. Services will be at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

ROBINSON — The Helping Hands of Robinson Evangelical United Methodist Church will hold a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the church building, 332 Mary St., Robinson. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 through 12. Children 4 and younger eat for free. Takeouts are available.

Spaghetti dinner

LEWISVILLE — A spaghetti dinner will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Lewisville. Dinners are $7 per person. Takeouts are available. Proceeds benefit a trip to the 2013 PCUSA Youth Triennium.

Guest speakers

Dr. and Mrs. Ray Degenkolb, missionaries to Colombia, will be thespecial guest speakers at 6:30 p.m. Sunday Cornerstone WorshipCenter, 500 Lenz Road, White Township.

The Degenkolbs are currently under appointment by One Mission Society to Colombia, where they will serve at the Biblical Seminary of Colombia in Medellin. Ray will be teaching systematic theology, and Sylvia will teach art.

Sgt. Marr presentation

Walt Marr will portray Sgt. Marr during the church service on April 14 at Marion Center Presbyterian Church. Marr portrays a Christian Army sergeant who will address the Christian troops of the church. His purpose is to recharge God’s soldiers and to remind us that we are complacent on God’s word. His presentation is meant to remind members of their responsibilities and priorities as a Christian soldier. A free-will offering will be taken to cover Marr’s expenses.

Day of Service ideas needed
