AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — The first words of a 79-year-old Michigan woman as she emerged from a five-year semi-coma were, “I want to go to a Bob Seger concert.” And now her wish has come true.
The Flint Journal reported that Evie Branan cheered, threw her hands in the air and danced during Seger’s concert Thursday night at The Palace of Auburn Hills. She also met Seger and his family, talked with crew and band members and received VIP treatment.
Branan called the night “the happiest I’ve been in a long time.” After suffering a stroke that left Branan unable to speak, move or eat on her own, she became a resident of Willowbrook manor’s long-term care unit. She awoke from the semi-coma on May 7, 2011.

CULVER CITY, Calif. — Rebel Wilson sings, dances and summons laughs — and that’s just in the opening moments of this weekend’s MTV Movie Awards.
The Australian actress is hosting the show, and she’s set to start the ceremony by singing solo.
Wilson and her co-stars from “Pitch Perfect” rehearsed a multi-genre opening medley Friday that features Wilson spoofing last year’s films and spinning nunchucks.
Brittany Snow, Anna Camp and Skylar Astin, along with a troupe of gymnastic dancers, joined the first-time host at Sony Pictures Studios to run through four songs not featured in the film. MTV insists on keeping the titles a surprise until tonight’s show.
When the group finished rehearsing, Wilson thrust her fist toward the sky and shouted, “‘Pitch Perfect’ two!” A sequel to the musical comedy has not been announced.
The MTV Movie Awards will be broadcast live today on MTV from 9-11 p.m.

LOS ANGELES — Kim Kardashian has left a Los Angeles courthouse without reaching a settlement in her divorce case from NBA player Kris Humphries.
Humphries’ attorneys declined to comment on settlement discussions Friday but say a May 6 trial date remains.
A judge sealed settlement discussions, but any agreement would have been put on the record after the hearing.
Kardashian appeared in court and was flanked by deputies as she left the courthouse shortly around noon. Humphries, a power forward for the Brooklyn Nets, did not attend the hearing.
The reality star wants a divorce to end her 72-day marriage to Humphries, but the NBA player wants it annulled. He claims the marriage was based on fraud, but he would have to prove the allegation at trial.
