Someone stole a green plastic mailbox from 217 Grandview Ave. sometime Saturday or Sunday, state police in Indiana reported.

Retail theft

State police in Indiana reported Tiana Shamaya Mathis, 19, of Indiana, cited with retail theft and harassment around 2:19 p.m. Friday at Walmart on Oakland Avenue. Police said she was seen concealing $13.56 in merchandise and that she punched Brett Millard, 27, of Indiana, when detained by Walmart asset protection personnel.

State police in Indiana charged a 16-year-old Indiana girl with trying to steal $117.69 worth of merchandise from Walmart around 6:52 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the girl concealed the items in a bag, carried them out, then re-entered the store and opened one of the packages.

Police said she was taken into custody and then released to her mother.


Someone broke into Linda Smyer’s home on Stevenson Avenue west of Gates Avenue between 3 and 8:15 p.m. Saturday, stealing money, state police in Indiana reported.

Criminal mischief

Someone broke the rear window of Rhonda Tedeski’s 2005 Ford Escape while it was parked in the Bouma Chiropractic parking lot between 8 a.m. and noon Saturday, state police in Indiana reported.



Someone drove off the road and hit a gas meter and access gate to Weir Gas and Oil Service around 10:55 p.m. Saturday on Indiana Avenue near Route 22, then fled the scene, state police in Indiana reported.



State police in Greensburg reported an 11-year-old shot a 10-year-old with a pellet gun Thursday at 612 Conrad Court and was cited with harassment.

Police did not specify the extent of injuries. The gender and relationship of the children was not reported.
