Firefighters worked to extinguish a fire within a hollow tree in Oakland Cemetery around 2:13 p.m. Monday.

Indiana Fire Association administrator Paul Koons speculated that someone either flicked a cigarette butt inside the tree or ignited it on purpose, something he said tends to happen annually. The fire was quickly extinguished.
