Spaghetti dinner

A spaghetti dinner will be held from noon to 7:30 p.m. today at the Christ Bible Fellowship Church, Old Route 119, south of Indiana.

The menu includes spaghetti, meat sauce, bread, salad, dessert and beverage. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 to 11; children 4 and younger eat free.

Eat in or takeout is available.

The dinner is sponsored by the Children and Youths for Christ and the proceeds will aid in their trip to the Creations Festival in Mount Union in June.

Chicken and biscuit dinner

A chicken and biscuit dinner will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Pine Grove Church of God, Route 240, between Uniontown and Cookport.

The cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children ages 12 and younger. Proceeds benefit the church choir.

CrossOver to perform

CrossOver, a popular Southern gospel singing family, will present a concert of music at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Independent Holiness Church, 5065 Ferguson Road, Indiana.

CrossOver is comprised of Beau and Jeanne Litz, and their son Shane, and his wife, Cortney (Fry) Litz, of Mahaffey.

CrossOver presents concerts in many area churches and joins with other well-known gospel music groups in presenting the Gospel through music. Tickets are not required, but a free-will offering will be received.

There will also be music available for purchase and a time of fellowship with refreshments following the concert.

Deacons to preach

Deacons Eddie Ensley and Robert Herrmann will be preaching today through Wednesday at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, White Township. They begin after Mass today and Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Light refreshments will follow.

Deacon Ensley is the author of “Prayer That Heals Our Emotions” (Harper/Collins), and the recent book “Visions,” published by Loyola Press. Deacon Herrmann is the author of “Writing to be Whole,” published by Loyola Press of Chicago.

A chicken and holupki dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Christ Our Savior Church, corner of Tanoma Road and Route 286, Rayne Township.

Hymn sing

GIPSY — The Indiana/Cambria County Hymn Sing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Christian Church in Gipsy. Everyone is welcome.

Special services

Dr. Marty Tharp and family will hold special services at 6:30 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday at Cornerstone Worship Center, 500 Lenz Road, White Township.

Tharp and his wife, Sharon, have been in the ministry for more than 50 years. In that time they have taken on many roles including, pastors, evangelists, musicians and teachers.

Most recently, they spend four months of the year doing free concerts for children in Northern Ireland schools and hold meetings the rest of the year in the U.S.

Missionary service

KENWOOD — A special missionary service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Kenwood Church of the Nazarene. The Bennetts, from Papua, New Guinea, will share their experiences at the Kudjip Hospital. A time of fellowship will follow in the Family Center.

Revival services

KENWOOD — The Kenwood Church of the Nazarene invites the public to revival services Wednesday through April 28 with father and son evangelists the Rev. Gary Smith and the Rev. David Smith. Services are at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. April 28.

The Rev. Gary Smith graduated from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colo. He has preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ for 40 years, pastoring in Arkansas, Virginia and six churches in Pennsylvania: Bradford, Knox, Brookville, Coraopolis, Homer City and Zelienople. He is a Bible-based “Holiness” preacher.

The Rev. David Smith graduated from Nazarene Bible College/Pittsburgh District Training Center, and was ordained in 2007. He has been senior pastor of the Franklin Church of the Nazarene since the fall of 2007. He is also the Nazarene Sunday School Discipleship Ministries International Pittsburgh District Chairman, part of the District Advisory Board for the Pittsburgh District and coaches others studying to be in the ministry. Prior to becoming senior pastor, the Rev. David Smith was a full-time youth pastor at Homer City Church of Nazarene. He is married to Sandy Smith and they have two children, Michael, 14, and Rachel, 9.

Weekend refresher

CLYMER — The Pine Flats Church of God, 1663 Route 580, is holding a weekend refresher service from April 26-28.

On Friday at 6:30 p.m., Luann Baker will present “JJ,” Jonah’s daughter, at the New Horizons Retreat Center, New Horizons Road, Clymer. Pizza will follow.

MARION CENTER — A ham dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. April 27 at the Marion Center Presbyterian Church. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 12. Proceeds benefit the church mission and maintenance funds.

Turkey dinner

A turkey dinner will be held beginning at 4 p.m. April 27 at Cochran’s Mill Church, 2571 Garretts Run Road, near the fire hall in Burrell Township, Armstrong County.

ARMAGH — There will be a spring clothing sale from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. April 27 at the Armagh United Methodist Church.

Clothing drive and recycling

SALTSBURG — The Saltsburg Methodist Church will have a clothing drive the first two weeks in May to replenish clothing for My Best Friends Closet. The next My Best Friends Closet will be held from 9 a.m. to noon May 11 at the church, 813 Salt St., Saltsburg.

Gently used clothing is sought for babies, children, teens, men and women in all sizes. The clothing will then be available to anyone in need for free. Items can be dropped off at the church basement door in bags marked “MBFC.”

Friday Night Light

PENN RUN — Friday Night Light will be held at 7 p.m. May 3 at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Center Road, Penn Run. The coffeehouse atmosphere will feature new activities including volleyball, board games, card games, social time, family and a prayer station. Refreshments are available.
