WESTOVER — The months of April and May are certainly the busiest of the school year at Harmony High School.

Recently, the two elementary reading competition teams, the Feathered Flyers and the Harmony Super Readers, were recognized at a school board meeting for participating in the I.U. 10 Reading Competition.

Also in the elementary, since PSSA testing is over, the classes are getting ready for various field trips. Third grade just attended the Jaffa Shrine Circus and spelling bees have also been scheduled.

Elementary students are working hard on their Young Author’s Day books. At the end of May, students will read them in front of their class and parents.

The Harmony scholars’ awards banquet will be held this week. Fifth-, eighth- and 11th-grade scholars, nominated by their teachers, will be presented with awards. The National Honor Society will also be inducting new members during this event.

A senior awards banquet and high school and middle school awards program is coming up next month as well.

The junior class will be holding its “Cowboys and Angels” themed prom on May 3.

Finally, Harmony’s yearly Spring Fling/Ice Cream Social will be on Tuesday, along with the school’s Book Fair. Come and support many of Harmony’s programs and clubs. You can also check out the new renovations, all while enjoying cake and ice cream.
