MEETING :: The Happy Homemakers will meet at Trinity United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. May 2 for their trip to Compass Inn Museum in Laughlintown.
The “5K Walk for Hope,” with the motto “Hope has No End,” will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 4 at the Penns Manor High School track, Kenwood. Registration will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. with the first 100 through the gates receiving a free T-shirt. Registration for adults 12 and older is $10 and for children 6 to 11, $5. Children 5 and younger are free.
There will be concessions, event merchandise and a live D.J. Proceeds from this event will go towards bringing the Power Team 2.0 to Indiana.
The Ride/Dine for Shelter Progressive Dinner will be held May 19, rain or shine.
Appetizers and salads will be served from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Hopewell Methodist Church, Blairsville. A main course will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Grace Methodist Church, Indiana. Dessert, prizes and an antique car and bike exhibit will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, New Florence with blessing of the bikes at 7 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Dinner for children under 6 is free.

The First Christian Church in Indiana will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 2 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 3.
A cash bash will be held by the Avonmore Community Association at 3 p.m. May 4 at the Polish National Alliance Club, 501 Indiana Ave., Avonmore. Doors will open at 2 p.m. Each ticket is $10. All proceeds benefit the Avonmore Harvest Jubilee. You need not be present to win.
Free food and refreshments will be provided.
The Avonmore Community Association will be sponsoring an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Avonmore Civic Center, 400 Railroad Ave., Avonmore. Proceeds will go to the annual Harvest Jubilee.
