DINNER: The Indiana Lions Club will hold a benefit turkey dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. May 11 at the Indiana Lions Health Camp located on Lions Health Camp Road. Tickets will be available at the door for $10 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12. Takeout will be available.
SALE: The First Christian Church in Indiana will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 3.
CASH BASH: A cash bash will be held by the Avonmore Community Association at 3 p.m. May 4 at the Polish National Alliance Club, 501 Indiana Ave., Avonmore. Doors will open at 2 p.m. Each ticket is $10. All proceeds benefit the Avonmore Harvest Jubilee. You need not be present to win. Free food and refreshments will be provided.
DINNER: The Avonmore Community Association will sponsoring an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Avonmore Civic Center, 400 Railroad Ave., Avonmore. Proceeds will go to the annual Harvest Jubilee.
SALE: The Burrell Township Library will hold its annual book sale through Tuesday. There will be a variety of hardbacks and paperbacks, VHS tapes and children’s books to choose from. All proceeds benefit the library.
TEA: Indiana County’s Link to Aging and Disability Resources will host a caregiver tea for those who provide care to the elderly and to disabled individuals over the age of 17 in Indiana County. The event will be held at Aging Services Inc., 1055 Oak St., Indiana, from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday. Guest speakers will be attorney Mike Clark and registered nurse Amy Simon from Community Health Connections. Clark will be presenting on power of attorney, living wills, advanced directives and trusts. Simon will be presenting on Alzheimer’s behavior and understanding. MEETING: Evergreen AARP 2581 will meet at 1 p.m. May 21 at the VFW, White Township. Angela McCracken of the Aztec Travel Agency will be the speaker. Tickets will be available for the picnic to be held June 19.
