Orthodox churches to hold special services

The following Holy Week and Resurrection Services are scheduled for area Orthodox churches:

Christ Our Savior Orthodox Church, Indiana

• Holy and Great Saturday, 8 p.m. today, Sorrowful Canon: Procession with the Light, Matins of the Resurrection: Paschal Canon: Blessing of Easter baskets.

• Easter Sunday (Pascha), 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Divine Liturgy of the Resurrection. Blessing of children’s Easter baskets.

• Bright Monday, 10 a.m. Monday, Paschal Vespers.

St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Dixonville

• Great Saturday, 9 p.m. today, Procession with the Matins of Resurrection, followed by the blessing of the baskets of Paschal foods.

• Easter Sunday, 10:45 a.m. Sunday, PASCHA, Divine Liturgy for The Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Following Divine Liturgy the children’s Easter baskets will be blessed, and there will be an Easter egg hunt for the children.

• Easter Monday, 9 a.m. Monday, Divine Liturgy.

Protopresbyter Father George Hnatko and the parishioners of St. John’s Church welcome the public to worship with them.

Saint Michael’s Orthodox Church, Clymer

• Saturday, 9 p.m. today, Resurrection Matins, Great and Holy Pascha, followed immediately with Divine Liturgy and the blessing of baskets.

All other Holy Week services will be at Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Homer City.

SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Homer City

• Today: Resurrection Matins followed by the blessing of baskets, 6 p.m.

• Sunday: Divine Liturgy — Great and Holy Pascha, 10 a.m.
