UNIONTOWN (AP) — A Fayette County man was charged after police said his 2-year-old daughter was found wandering outside while he was passed out at home from too much drink.
Uniontown police arrested Shawn Hodgetts Jr., 28, shortly after a neighbor found the girl wandering on the street Tuesday afternoon, according to reports. The dirty-faced girl was crying and wearing a wet diaper when she was found, police said.
Police began searching nearby residences to determine where the girl lived and stopped at Hodgetts’ home when they saw a child’s swing set and Hodgetts passed out on a couch, according to reports. Police said Hodgetts didn’t wake up even after police kicked his door and yelled at him, though they were eventually able to revive the man.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Hodgetts, who faces a May 7 hearing on child endangerment charges.
