The Indiana Business and Professional Women has named S&T Bank as its employer of the year.
The recognition is given to an employer that has demonstrated promotions, hiring and accomplishments of women in the organization.
BPW President Kelly Polando presented the award at the organization’s meeting last week.
S&T has been in the community for more than a century.
Bank representatives wrote that they believe women are well represented within the company, with females accounting for 75 percent of its workforce.
Last year, 66 percent of new hires were women, the bank reported. And more than 100 women were promoted.
Of note, the bank pointed out, are the number of female employees who have received certifications through the Insurance Institute of America.
“We are proud of the number of female employees that hold positions at both the senior vice president and executive vice president levels,” bank representatives wrote in a release.
