Volunteers needed for cleanup

Volunteers are needed for an hour or two to help with the annual spring cleanup at the Harmony Grove Cemetery, starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

It will be helpful if volunteers can bring line trimmers, lawn rakes or wheelbarrows.

The cemetery is located along Route 954, one-quarter mile north of Five Points, Washington Township.

In the event of rain, the cleanup will be held Thursday, May 23, at the same time.

Cemetery association to meet

The annual meeting of the Bethel United Presbyterian Cemetery Association of West Wheatfield Township will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the United Presbyterian Church, south of Clyde off Clay Pike.

Lot owners and interested parties are encouraged to attend.

Motorcycle ride set for Sunday

The Pennsylvania State Police are holding a motorcycle run on Sunday. The ride will begin at Lenape Vo-Tech and end at Chaplin Avenue in Ford City. Registration is from 9 to 11 a.m., and coffee and doughnuts will be provided. The ride begins at 11 a.m. and will be nonstop. Food, beverages, raffles and entertainment will follow. A cookout begins at 1:30.

Registration to ride is $20 for a bike and drive, and an additional $10 for a passenger. The registration fee includes a T-shirt, food and beverages.

The rain date for the event is June 2. Call (724) 543-2011 to confirm cancellation.
