A meeting to discuss future transportation projects in Indiana County will be held Thursday at the PA CareerLink Building, 300 Indian Springs Road, White Township.
The public is encouraged to attend; the meeting will begin at 5 p.m.
Hosted by the Indiana County Public Participation Panel appointed by the Indiana County commissioners, the meeting will focus on the 2015-2018 Transportation Improvement Program.
TIP identifies the region’s priority transportation projects for the next four years and is updated every two years in a cooperative process of local, state and federal agencies, as well as the general public.
The meeting will be facilitated by transportation planners from the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission and the Indiana County Office of Planning and Development.
Those attending the meeting will discuss candidate projects that they believe are important and worthy of public investment and that will improve safety, according to organizers.
Those who cannot attend the meeting can go online to provide input. SPC, which is responsible for transportation planning across the region, has created an online form to help with submissions. Go to www.spcregion.org/ trans_tip_projform.asp to share your ideas.
If you do not have access to the Internet, SPC will accept your input via fax or U.S. mail through May 31. You may contact them at SPC Draft TIP, Initial Input, Two Chatham Center, Suite 500, 112 Washington Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
