Ken Marcoaldi said the experience he has had with sales, billing and business management at Indiana Feed and Supply over the past 30 years makes him a qualified candidate for tax collector.
And since his job as “feed man” at the store involves lifting heavy bags, he said he’s ready to move to more of a desk job.
“I think white collar work would be a lot easier for me in my older age versus lifting 50-pound bags,” he said.
Marcoaldi said he would maintain an office at Indiana Feed and Supply, on Water Street, six days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and said the location is “convenient for the community with plenty of free parking.”
“I think my location is one of my biggest assets, besides being qualified,” he said. “I think it’s just a combination of me being here all my life, at Indiana Feed and Supply, and it’s a very convenient location for the taxpayers.”
Marcoaldi said he’s lived in White Township all his life. Besides working at Indiana Feed and Supply, he is a registered tax preparer with the IRS, he said.
He said he is a hard worker who enjoys working with the public and “would be happy to give back” to the community. He also said he recognizes that being tax collector is a full-time endeavor.
Marcoaldi and his wife, Trish, have two daughters: Nicole and Cassie.
He attended Indiana Area Senior High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church and said he is an avid baseball player and sports enthusiast.
