Jade Reinard said she has a great location for a tax collection office, complete with parking spaces, where her hair salon used to be located on Laurel Street.
“I see it as a great location, a lot of traffic, easy access, pretty centrally located,” she said.
Currently a billing representative for Diamond Pharmacy, she has worked in sales and customer service for 24 years and owned Headlines Hair Salon for 16 years (it closed in 1992). She was also a licensed notary; a former member of the Quota and Business and Professional Women service clubs; and a board member of the American Cancer Society.
Reinard said that she has a lot of customer and business experience to apply to the job. “This is not a job for someone who’s going to change policy; this is more for someone who collects money and keeps accounts and makes sure the money should go to where it should go,” she said. “I feel very qualified that I can complete the duties for the office.”
She described herself as a “very friendly, honest person” who would respond promptly to taxpayers’ calls.
“I think I treat people as I want to be treated. When I have an issue I want to get it solved as quickly as possible,” she said.
Reinard graduated from Indiana Area High School and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
“I know the people, I know the area,” she said.
A lifelong resident of White Township, she is the daughter of Helen and the late Joseph Pina and mother to Joe Reinard.
