Josephine “Josie” Black, of Houser Road, Home, has announced her candidacy for Rayne Township tax collector.
Black is a lifelong resident of Indiana County and grew up in Rayne Township. She graduated from Marion Center Area High School with business courses.
She feels that helping to keep the books for the business of her father, Joseph Miloser, working as a self-employed jobber for Quaker State and working at TNS doing research with computers qualifies her for the position.
Black is a member of the Rochester Mills Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher for a number of years. She also helped with meals and other activities when needed.
She and her husband, Dave, moved back to her homestead five years ago. Their family includes three sons, Brian, Adam and Justin; their wives; and three grandchildren.
Black said in a release that she knows she would enjoy meeting and serving the residents of Rayne Township.
“Our home will be handicap-accessible with drive-thru available,” she said.
