Fallon Schoch, a recent graduate of Marion Center Senior High School, was presented a $4,000 scholarship by the Elks National Foundation on June 4 at the senior awards ceremony at the school.

Fallon is the daughter of Jennifer Schoch, of Marion Center.

The Elks National Foundation “Most Valuable Student” scholarship program recognizes outstanding high school seniors throughout the United States based on academic performance, leadership and financial need. This year the foundation awarded more than $2.3 million in scholarships, including 16 in Pennsylvania. She is the only Indiana County student to be recognized this year by the foundation.

Suellen Shick, Indiana Lodge 931 Elks National Foundation representative, and Bernard Lockard Jr., chairman of the lodge’s Most Valuable Student committee, attended the ceremony.

Fallon was an honors student at Marion Center and was active in the Future Business Leaders of America, Project Earth and the Swarm School Spirit Club. She was the editor of the school newspaper and dual enrolled at Indiana University of Pennsylvania during her senior year.

She graduated with primary honors, and will be attending Wilson College in Chambersburg this fall, majoring in business and equine therapeutics.
