S&T Bank has been named one of the Best Employers for Workers Over 50 by AARP and the Society for Human Resource Management.
A national award, the designation is earmarked for private, public, nonprofit and governmental employers who have developed exemplary policies and practices to meet the needs of an aging workforce.
S&T ranked 16 on this year’s list. The Indiana-based bank also made the list in 2009 and 2011.
“We’re pleased to be recognized for our efforts to foster the careers of our older workforce by a respected organization like AARP,” Todd D. Brice, president and CEO of S&T Bank, said in a release. “These workers bring invaluable experience to their jobs at the bank every day, and that benefits both the organization and our customers. We thank them for their ongoing contributions.”
According to AARP, 41 percent of S&T employees are over 50 years old, and the average tenure of employees over that age is 13.4 years.
The annual recognition program rewards companies and organizations whose best practices and policies for addressing the issues affecting our aging labor force create road maps for the workplaces of tomorrow.
