First-place Blairsville gave pitcher Jordan Truscott more than enough run support, and the Colts secured their third straight win with a 9-0 victory over Greensburg in an Indiana County League baseball game Thursday at One River Field.
Blairsville scored three runs on three hits and an error in the bottom of the first inning. Craig Paouncic ripped a two-run single to ignite the scoring, and Nick Draghi added an RBI single.
An inning later, the Colts plated two runs on two hits and a walk to extend the lead to 5-0.
Truscott fired a two-hitter, allowing a single each to Lou Downey and Cody Kern. Truscott struck out 13 and walked two.
“This is the third year we’ve had this group of guys,” Blairsville player-manager Joe Culler said. “We all know now that we’re part of a team, and we know that different guys have different roles. Everyone’s starting to find their niche and fill their responsibility. Sometimes teams rely on just one hitter or pitcher, but it’s been a total team effort here.”
Paouncic finished 2-for-2 with a double, and Draghi went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. David Doak and Cory Manarelli each singled and drove in two runs. Scott Harsh singled and doubled.
