James and Patricia Hockin, of Indiana, are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on June 30. They met during a dance at the Punxsutawney YMCA. They were married by the Rev. M.N. George at St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, Punxsutawney.
A dinner at Punxsutawney’s Pantall Hotel followed the ceremony.
Jim was a United Mine Worker and retired as a federal mine inspector. He enjoys being out in his yard and family get-togethers.
Pat is a retired dental and real estate secretary and worked for many years at Indiana First Bank. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family and following Pittsburgh sports, especially the Pirates.
An anniversary party honoring the couple is planned for Sunday. Their five children are hosting the party: Carol (James) Minor, Richard (Millie) Hockin, David Hockin, Connie (Anthony) Reid, and Claudia (Gregory) Trout. Their daughter-in-law Sharon Hockin is deceased.
They are the grandparents of Jim, Malinda, Matt, Benjamin, Stacy, Jennifer, Jessica, Hannah, Ryan, Kelly, Renee and Shawn. Great-grandchildren J.D., Kaitlyn, Nathan, Madison, twins Simon and Nickolai, Luke, Sophia, Stephen, Timothy, Isabella, Isaiah and Cole complete the family circle.
