SCRANTON (AP) — Police in Scranton said a woman and two children managed to escape a sport-utility vehicle just before it was hit by on oncoming train.
WNEP-TV reported that the vehicle had flipped and landed on the tracks around 1 a.m. Wednesday. Police said a train was approaching at the time, but that all three made it out shortly before impact.
Police said the woman and the children were taken to the hospital to be checked out. All were reported to be OK.
It wasn’t immediately clear what led the vehicle to flip onto the tracks.
