SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — Prosecutors are winding down their case in George Zimmerman’s murder trial after presenting forensics evidence and testimony aimed at refuting Zimmerman’s claim he was acting in self-defense when he fatally shot Trayvon Martin.
Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, was called by prosecutors to testify today. It's likely she will be asked about 911 calls that capture a struggle between Martin and George Zimmerman.
Martin's parents say the screams are those of their son, while Zimmerman's family claims Zimmerman is yelling on the calls.
Attorneys say identifying the screams can show who the aggressor was in the fight.
Prosecutors are expected to rest their case today.
