BLAIRSVILLE — The Historical Society of the Blairsville Area is presenting a summer exhibit, “Blairsville: An Important Stop on the Canal Journey,” through August at its museum, 116 E. Campbell St.
The display features pictures, artifacts and model canal boats from the Pennsylvania Canal and the Port of Blairsville from 1829 to 1865. It was part of the Western Division of the Main Line Canal that connected Pittsburgh to Phila-delphia.
The historical society’s museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
