Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County
Minor injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday on Route 422 at Route 210.
State police at Kittanning said Kenneth Schaeffer, 75, of Elderton, was driving east on Route 422 and failed to stop at a red traffic signal at the intersection with Route 210.
Police said Schaeffer’s vehicle hit the driver’s side of a northbound vehicle on Route 210 driven by Richard Good, 58, of Marion Center. A southbound vehicle on Route 210, driven by Leonard Troutman, whose address was not listed, then entered the intersection and hit Schaeffer’s vehicle.
Police were assisted at the scene by paramedics and volunteer firefighters from Indiana, Kittanning, Elderton and Homer City.
East Wheatfield Township
David Pribish, 58, of Johnstown, was driving a coal truck east on Route 22 at 9:13 a.m. Tuesday when a tire malfunctioned, according to state police at Indiana.
Pribish lost control of the rig and it hit the cement divider separating the eastbound and westbound lanes.
Police said Pribish was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, where a hospital spokeswoman today said he was treated and released.
The coal truck is owned by Yanko Brothers Trucking, according to police.
