A new summer exhibit, “Blairsville: An Important Stop on the Canal Journey,” is on display at The Historical Society of the Blairsville Area, 116 E. Campbell St., Blairsville, through August.

The display features pictures, artifacts and model canal boats from the Pennsylvania Canal and the Port of Blairsville between1829 and 1865. The canal was part of the Western Division of the Main Line Canal that connected Pittsburgh to Philadelphia.
