This is a great-grandmother’s special thanks to the Pittsburgh Pirates. I know of no team more generous and friendly toward their fans. Thanks to them, our community will benefit by having the Miracle League Field here in Indiana.
I know that they are welcoming and positive to fans on an individual basis, too. My great-grandson, Corey Cavalier, of Homer City, and his team attended a Pirates home game on Corey’s 13th birthday. This young ball team was welcomed into the dugout where the Pirates signed autographs, posed for pictures and chatted with the boys.
Upon learning that it was Corey’s birthday, one player gave him his batting gloves! The picture above shows Corey on this never-to-be-forgotten day.
May God bless our “Buccos” — great athletes and great encouragers of our youth.
