Hayley Dumm, 7, and her brother Jim, 8, dashed into the water to cool off Tuesday afternoon at the beach at Yellow Creek State Park.

They were with grandparents Jim and Jane, of Nicktown, and are the children of Jim and Heather, of Northern Cambria. Temperatures in the 90s combined with high humidity is expected in the region until Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS has issued a cautionary statement warning of the dangers of heat-related illnesses. People should wear loose-fitting clothing, drink plenty of water, never leave children or animals unattended in a hot car, and reduce, eliminate or reschedule strenuous activities to the coolest time of the day.
