INDIANA COUNTY LEAGUE: New Derry wins again

NEW DERRY — New Derry beat Trendy Trades for the second time in as many nights, scoring a 13-2 victory in five innings due to the mercy rule in an Indiana County League baseball game Wednesday.

The Tigers took a 7-0 lead through two innings.

Tommy Kelly went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs to lead New Derry. Scott Dixon went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored, and Zach Dixon added a 2-for-3 performance with two runs scored and two RBIs. Luke Yandrick doubled and scored two runs.

Zack Bowman picked up the win, striking out three and walking one in three innings.

Joel Yandrick had two of Trendy Trades’ five hits, and Dylan George added a double.

Kurt Krejocic took the loss, striking out two and walking three in three innings.

New Derry beat Trendy Trades, 15-8, on Tuesday in Graceton.

Both teams play this evening. New Derry (13-13) welcomes Greensburg, and Trendy Trades (10-13) plays host to Amfire Mining.
