Car recovered

A 2003 Ford Focus, stolen from the residence of Laura Spangler, of Shelocta, on July 14, was found abandoned and partially submerged in a pond at 11001 Five Points Road on Tuesday, according to state police at Indiana.

Anyone with information on the stolen car is asked to contact the state police at (724) 357-1960.


Drug offense

Indiana police made a traffic stop at 1:16 a.m. July 7 along the first block of South Fifth Street. Police said a passenger in the vehicle, Lee Walker, 22, of Indiana, had heroin and crack cocaine in his possession. He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Fleeing and eluding

State police from the Indiana station on patrol at 2:05 a.m. today tried to stop a white Nissan along North Fourth Street, near Country Club Estates, according to reports.

Police said the driver fled, but at 4:25 a.m. today police saw the vehicle again traveling in the same area.

The driver again attempted to flee, according to police, but was stopped.

Police said the driver, Michael Delaney, 43, of Indiana, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, fleeing and eluding police and careless driving. He was placed in the Indiana County Jail to await arraignment.


Domestic assault

State police at Greensburg said Steven Culbertson, 44, and Joan Muir, 38, both of 730 Lincoln St., engaged in a domestic altercation at 2:30 a.m. July 7.

Police said Culbertson was arrested for simple assault and Muir was arrested for harassment.
