Yellow Creek State Park has scheduled the following programs in August.
“Bat and Moth,” 4-5 p.m., beach (main day-use area)
Join the park naturalist to learn about the fascinating world of bats through discussion, bat trivia and playing the game “Bat and Moth.”
For children ages 5 to 12.
“Lagoons By Pontoon,” 2-4 p.m., meet at the boat rental.
A turtle slips off a log and into the water, an eagle flies overhead, and further on down we pass a beaver lodge. Join the park naturalist to see firsthand how productive and full of life wetlands are at Yellow Creek State Park.
For ages 12 and up. Seating is limited to the first 10 participants, so registration is required. To register call the park office at (724) 357-7913.
“Full Moon Paddle,” 7:30-9:30 p.m., boat rental
Paddling Yellow Creek Lake in the full moon is a wonderful experience. Join us for some fun as we explore the lake during the full moon.
A limited number of canoes and kayaks are available. Bring your own canoe or kayak, if you wish. For ages 12 and up.
Space is limited to the first 15 participants, so register early. Cost is $5 per person.
