The Pittsburgh Pirates are getting a lot of attention now that they’re at the top of the National League Central standings.

But while replacing the roof of the First Commonwealth Bank office along Oakland Avenue in White Township Wednesday, workers uncovered on the roof’s underlayment a cheer for another Pittsburgh sports franchise.

The message apparently was a leftover from the Steelers’ former glory days but could also be an encouragement as the team prepares for its 2013-14 season.

Display of the message was fleeting; it has since been covered again.
