Lordsmen in concert
SAGAMORE — The Lordsmen, a Southern gospel group from Elk View, W.Va., will perform at 7 p.m. today and during the 11 a.m. service Sunday at the Community Bible Church of Sagamore.

A chicken and holupki dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Christ Our Savior Orthodox Church, corner of Tanoma Road and Route 286 East, Rayne Township.
The cost is $10 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for ages 4 and under. Takeouts are available. The public is welcome.
EMEIGH — The Indiana/Cambria County Hymn Sing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Hill Church of God, Emeigh. Come to sing, come to listen. Everyone is welcome.
COMMODORE — Purchase Line United Methodist Church will hold a peach festival from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, 17107 Route 286 East, Commodore.

Family movie night
HOMER CITY — Family movie night on the lawn will be held at dusk Friday at Homer City Presbyterian Church, 40 E. Elm St., Homer City.

VINTONDALE — The annual church festival will be held at 5 p.m. Aug. 24 in the pavilion at Blacklick Community United Methodist Church, 1453 Bracken Road, Vintondale.
There will be chicken, hot sausage, hamburgers, hot dogs, potato/macaroni salad, baked beans, side dishes, desserts and beverages. A choice of one meat, sides, dessert and beverage is $5 for adults and $2.50 for ages 12 and younger. There will be games, and the gospel music group Chalice will perform at 6 p.m.

Harvest Community Church events
Harvest Community Church, 637 Philadelphia St., Fourth Floor, Indiana will hold the following events:
• “Down by the Riverside” — The Indiana and Kittanning campuses of Harvest Community Church will meet at 10 a.m. Aug. 25 at the Murtha Amphitheatre, Kittanning Riverfront Park, Water Street, Kittanning. There will be live music with the Harvest Band, a gospel-centered message, public baptism, a children’s party and a free picnic.
• Family Fun Booth — The Harvest Community Church Family Fun Booth will be open Aug. 25 to 31 at the Indiana County Fair.
Roast beef dinner
UREY — A roast beef dinner will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 25 at SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Urey. There will also be a trash and treasure sale.
The menu includes roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, stuffed cabbage, haluski, salad, dessert and beverage. Takeouts will be available.

Home-school co-op group
The Indiana County Christian Homeschoolers will have classes starting in September in Indiana. The new co-op group, which supports family-centered home-schooling, is focused on sharing a passion for home learning.
This is a way for home-schooled children to socialize and make friends. It is also a way to share in education.

Holy Land trip
HOMER CITY — The Rev. Dr. Paul Morris, a retired pastor from Homer City, will lead a group on a 10-day Holy Land trip. The journey includes Galilee, Nazareth, the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem, the Garden Tomb and more.
The travel/study program has been arranged by Educational Opportunities, a Christian tour company. Their main objective is to provide pastors and laity affordable first-class learning experiences in the lands of the Bible. The tour provides sightseeing, daily devotions and lectures.
