Library announces free programs for week

The Indiana Free Library, located at 845 Philadelphia St., offers the following free programs for the week of Aug. 18:


Dr. Marcus History Lecture, 1 p.m.: “Prominent Leaders of the 20th Century (Part Two): Woodrow Wilson, Joseph Stalin, Martin Luther King Jr.” To understand leadership in the modern era, it is helpful to realize the differences among prominent leaders. Wilson, Stalin and King will be used as a second group of case settings. These figures will illustrate the different types of leadership, the role of violence and the charismatic factor. Refreshments served. (Reading Area)


Pins and Patches Quilting Group, 1 p.m.: Learn to quilt this summer. Beginners and experienced quilters welcome.

The library offers thanks to all who participated in Summer Reading programs. While there are no formal children’s programs during the month of August, patrons are welcome to come and check out books and materials and enjoy the toys and games and learning stations. The library is planning a full schedule of programs for fall, which will begin Monday, Sept. 9.
