Mark Dixon to Host YERT and Discuss Going Green at The Indiana Theater
The producer of the award-winning film YERT will join the Center for Community Growth in a panel discussion and screening of YERT on Friday, April 26th at 7:30pm, at the Downtown Indiana Theater:
“Called to action by a planet in peril, three friends hit the ro ad in the film YERT - traveling America with hope, humor…and all of their garbage for the year - to explore the good, the bad, and the weird across every state in search of the innovators and citizens who are tackling humanity's greatest environmental crises. As the YERT team layers outlandish eco-challenges onto their year-long quest, an unexpected turn of events throws the project for a loop in this award-winning docu-comedy.”
The producer of the film, Mark Dixon, will participate in a panel discussion about local environmental initiatives and ideas on how to “get green” in Indiana County. The Center for Community Growth will honor the winners of the IUP Undergraduate Scholars Forum ECO awards at the event. Also joining us for the evening’s panel discussion are representatives from the Indiana County Solid Waste Authority (recycling center), IUP’s Energy Team, and IUP ECO club.
Attendees are invited to enjoy the music of a bike-powered band and Scott Ellis during a social hour starting at 6:30pm. Tables from participating organizations will be set up and locally-made food, baked goods, and other refreshments will be availa ble.
Jeff Biggers of the Huffington Post writes, “By the dramatic end of Your Environmental Road Trip, audiences will not only cheer, but feel compelled to spring to their feet to join an inspiring movement for change.”
