Library to mark anniversary

The Homer Center Public Library will be celebrating its Fifth Anniversary Recognition Week from May 13 to 18 with the following programs:

• May 14: Join the library for a poetry program and hear local writers share their works and the works of others from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

• May 16: Jim Klyap will present a program on Yellowstone National Park Adventures from 7 to 9 p.m. Klyap taught for the Purchase Line School District and has worked for 17 summers as a seasonal park concessioner employee.

• May 13 and 15: The library will be open for normal business hours from 6 to 8 p.m.

• May 17: The library will celebrate Armed Forces Day from 10 a.m. to noon. The library will display a “Wall of Honor” for local veterans to come into the library to sign a star to be placed on the wall. Items will also be collected by the library to send to U.S. troops.

All programs and activities will be held at the library, 6 N. Main St., Homer City
