The Rev. Dr. Bill and Linda Blacksmith, former residents of Indiana, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 28, 2013. They were married at the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church in Camp Hill by the Rev. Spencer B. Smith in 1963.

The Blacksmiths make their home in New Castle and will celebrate this important occasion at a family dinner hosted by their children and grandchildren on June 22.

The Blacksmiths lived in the Indiana area for 39 years. Bill was a former professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a former associate pastor at Graystone Presbyterian Church. Linda was a former elementary teacher in Indiana, and together they served as directors of spiritual formation and discipleship at Graystone Church. They left the Indiana area to pastor Highland Presbyterian Church in New Castle prior to retiring from full-time ministry in 2010. Currently, Linda and Bill serve on the staff of Grace Chapel Community Church in Hermitage as part-time volunteer directors of Life Group Ministry.

They enjoy time together and with their family. Their mission in life has been to help others to grow in their faith.

Their children are: son Bill Blacksmith and his wife, Debra, of Plum Borough; daughter Beth Bracken and husband Ed, of Vintondale; and foster son Rick Fleming and wife Brenda, of Wilcox. Their grandchildren are Desire’ Fleming, Joshua Blacksmith, Matthew Blacksmith, Caleb Bracken, Michaela Bracken, Luke Blacksmith and Gideon Bracken.
