Izaak Gray tossed a gem, and Indiana Lions plated three of the game’s last four runs to outlast Young Township at Bertolino Field.
Gray walked and then scored on an error in the top of the sixth to give Indiana Lions a 4-2 lead.
An inning later, Bryden Lorelli singled and then scored on an error to stretch Indiana Lions’ lead to 5-3.
Gray fired a five-hitter to earn the win. Gray struck out 15 and walked none.
“He mainly just used a fastball, but he threw strikes and didn’t walk anybody,” Young Township coach Jack Yard said. “He put the ball around the plate all game. We just didn’t hit the ball. It was that simple.”
Ian Helsel singled and doubled to pace Indiana Lions. Tom Budash and Lorelli each singled twice.
Tanner Yard struck out nine, walked one and allowed eight hits in a complete-game losing effort.
Brady Neal singled twice to lead Young Township.
Young Township (9-6) travels to United today. Indiana Lions (11-6) plays host to Kovacik Insurance on Thursday.
