Trendy Trades amassed 23 hits in two games and handcuffed Greensburg to earn a sweep of a doubleheader in Graceton.
In the opener, pitcher Mike Panchik took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and finished with a one-hitter after Lorenzo Marefka singled. Panchik struck out 10 and walked eight.
Trendy Trades took a 5-0 lead into the seventh inning and then erupted for 10 runs.
“Our 10-run rally in the seventh inning really broke his rhythm,” Trendy Trades player-manager Larry Cadile said. “If it weren’t for that, he probably would have gotten the no-hitter.
“He pitched a great game. He was hitting the outside corner all game, and he was mixing his fastball and curveball well.”
Josh Casses paced Trendy Trades by going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Craig Krejocic went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Bryan Buzi singled twice, and Joel Yandrick doubled, scored three runs and drove in a run. Ryan Bernat singled and doubled, Zack Davis doubled and knocked in two runs, and Travis Redinger and Seth Tassos each singled and had two RBIs.
In the second game, Cadile and Buzi each homered, and Trendy Trades limited Greensburg to five hits.
Buzi smacked a two-run shot and finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Cadile cracked a solo homer and drove in two runs.
Erick Skultety tossed a five-hitter to notch the win. Skultety struck out nine and walked two.
Both teams play Tuesday. Trendy Trades (10-11) plays host to New Derry, and Greensburg (3-20) travels to Amfire Mining.
