BENEFIT: The Clymer Moose, 40 Sixth St., Clymer, will hold a benefit Aug. 31 from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Bands playing will be Iron Wolf, East Nowhere13, Black Ridge, Ryan Long, Steve Grace and DJ Sound Barr.
PARTICIPANTS WANTED: Saltsburg’s Heritage Holiday Committee is looking for participants for Saltsburg’s annual townwide yard sales to be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 14. Participation is $5 and entitles you to free advertising in newspapers, Internet, radio, your location on a townwide map, and sign and balloons for your location.
CAR CRUISE: The annual Historic Saltsburg Car Cruise will be held Friday on and around the Canal Park in downtown Saltsburg.
Registration starts at 4 p.m. and the cruise at 5 p.m. There will be trophies, dash plaques (to the first 50 registered cars), a 50/50, music, food and more. All proceeds go toward scholarships for Saltsburg High School seniors.
AUCTION: The Saltsburg Lions Club will hold an auction Wednesday in front of the Lions Building, 220 Point St., Saltsburg.
The preview will be at 4 p.m. and auction at 5 p.m. Food, drinks and ice cream will be available. Don’t forget to bring a chair and tell a friend. PICNIC: The Indiana County Herb Study Group will hold its annual picnic at Judy Miller’s home at 6 p.m. Aug. 27. Bring you own place setting, an herbal covered dish, and a chair. To get to her home, follow 422 east until you come to 403, turn left there, go 1.6 miles to Bird Lane on your right. Go down the lane to the left to reach Miller’s.
BENEFIT: A chicken barbecue and trap shoot benefit for Tom Hampton and Vicki Radebach will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Colver Sportsmen’s Club. The chicken barbecue and trap shoot are $10 each. If you’re not up to shooting just join us for dinner. Due to complications from diabetes, Hampton is in need of a kidney transplant. Radebach is finalizing the testing to be his donor. Both will be off work while they heal.
