Theater group to begin
DAYTON — The Dayton Community Players theater group will begin a new season at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Dayton United Methodist Christian Life Center, 105 E. Church Ave., Dayton.

The Gap Ministry presents a DVD showing of “America: Rescuing a Nation at Risk” from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Indiana Free Library, Philadelphia St., Indiana.
The event is free with complimentary popcorn. The presentation will show how you can help bring restoration through knowledge, prayer and action.

Used book sale
The 45th annual Newman Used Book Sale will be held from 4 to 10 p.m. Sept. 20, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 21, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at the St. Thomas More University Parish and Catholic Student Center, 1200 Oakland Ave., Indiana.

Fun in the fall
The second annual Fun in the Fall celebration will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 398 Church St., Indiana. An ice cream social will begin at 6 p.m.
The event is hosted by Trinity United Methodist Church and Victory Christian Assembly and will be held rain or shine. Admission and food are free. There will be games, prizes, music and more. Everyone is welcome.
Chicken and biscuit dinner
BLAIRSVILLE — A chicken and biscuit dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 4660 Route 22 East, five miles east of Blairsville.
The cost is a donation. Everyone is welcome.
Holy Land trip
HOMER CITY — The Rev. Dr. Paul Morris, a retired pastor from Homer City, will lead a group on a 10-day Holy Land trip. The journey includes Galilee, Nazareth, the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem, the Garden Tomb and more.
The travel/study program has been arranged by Educational Opportunities, a Christian tour company. Their main objective is to provide pastors and laity affordable first-class learning experiences in the lands of the Bible. The tour provides sightseeing, daily devotions and lectures.
