Several people suffered minor to moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident Sunday on Route 422, according to state police in Indiana.
Police said the driver, Joseph Laurenzano, 20, of Commack, N.Y., fell asleep while behind the wheel, causing his vehicle to drift off the road, striking a mailbox and a utility pole.
His vehicle then traveled back on to the road, overturned and struck an embankment, overturning twice more, police said.
Police said Laurenzano was driving with five passengers ranging in age from 18 to 21.
They suffered a variety of injuries, but police did not specify the extent of injuries to Laurenzano and the passengers.
Commercial trucks driven by David E. Phipps, 57, of Butler, and Vernon Charles, 58, of Byron, Ga., collided late Friday afternoon on Route 22 near Lintner Road, according to state police in Indiana.
No injuries were reported.
