Blairsville edged United, 242-243, in a Heritage Conference boys’ golf match Tuesday at Champion Lakes Golf Course.
Jake Shirley fired a 44 to lead Blairsville. Jake Swiencki posted a 45, and Corey Ramsden and Melissa Lawton each carded a 48.
United’s A.J. Bono was the medalist with a 41. Garrett Stinson fired a 43.
Both teams play Thursday. United (1-2) travels to Homer-Center, and Blairsville (2-2) vitis Ligonier Valley.
• Zack Lee shot a 39 to earn the medalist honor and lead Northern Cambria to a 210-223 win over Homer-Center in a Heritage Conference match at Chestnut Ridge Golf Course.
Ben Strollo fired a 41 for Northern Cambria. Ray Shell carded a 42, Mark Farrell had a 43, Hunter Duriez posted a 45, and Austin Tibbott shot a 46.
John Capitosti, Logan Dellafiora and Bryan Buzi each posted a 44 for Homer-Center. Joe Capitosti had a 45, and Andrew Gaydosh fired a 46.
Both teams play Thursday. Homer-Center (2-2) plays host to United, and Northern Cambria (2-1) welcomes Saltsburg.
• Alexa Strong fired a 38 and was the medalist to power Indiana to a 199-217 win over Norwin in a WPIAL 3-AAA girls’ match at Meadow Lane Golf Course.
Logan Everett carded a 43 for Indiana.
Indiana (2-2) plays host to Punxsutawney on Thursday.
Two advance at Tom’s Run
BURRELL TOWNSHIP — Arnie Cutrell and Mitch Mercer advanced in the U.S. Mid-Amateur Sectional Qualifying golf tournament at Tom’s Run Golf Course on Tuesday.
Cutrell, of Greensburg, shot a 67, and Mercer, of Wexford, carded a 69.
Nicolas Milito, of Jeannette, shot a 70 and is the first alternate, and Mike Wickett, of Allison Park, shot a 71 and is the second alternate. Two Punxsutawney players, Frank Fairman and Justin Cameron, carded a 72 and 75, respectively.
Todd Bird Club slates meeting
ERNEST — The Todd Bird Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Blue Spruce Lodge at Blue Spruce County Park.
Club member and photographer Nancy Murphy, of Tunnelton, will present a program on the Galapagos. Murphy has photographed many birds on the island, including herons, boobies, gulls and tropic birds. Her program will also feature photographs of Galapagos reptiles, amphibians and mammals, including tortoises, iguanas, fur seals and lava lizards.
Refreshments will be provided. The meeting is open to the public.

Moran Financial improves to 5-0
Moran Financial improved to 5-0 by defeating Arbor Pros, 7-2, in an Indiana Over-40 Baseball League game Sunday at the White Township Recreation Complex.
Moran Financial scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 7-2 lead. With two outs in the sixth, Joe Pacconi hit a two-run single with the bases loaded to make it 3-2.
P.J. McMullen led Moran Financial with two hits, including a two-run triple.
Al Baum struck out two and allowed one hit in three innings to get the win.
Harry Holland allowed no hits and one walk in four innings for Arbor Pros.
