Resisting arrest

Denzel Sherrill, of Penn Hills, Allegheny County, struggled with Indiana Borough police at 12:19 a.m. Saturday when officers investigated a complaint of shoplifting at Giant Eagle Express, 435 S. Seventh St.

Borough police charged Sherrill on Wednesday with resisting arrest, retail theft, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief in a complaint filed at Indiana District Court.



Sara Cessna, 31, of Indiana, and Chad Smith, 22, of Homer City, have been charged by state police with swapping a dehumidifier, which they had not purchased, for a gift card worth $216.24 at Walmart in SouthTowne Plaza at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 20.

Store employees detected the ruse and summoned troopers, who arrested Cessna and Smith at the scene, according to a police news release. Investigators then found suspected heroin stamp bags in Cessna’s purse, troopers reported.

Cessna was charged with two counts of theft by deception and one count each of receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith was charged with theft and a summary traffic offense.

Online court records show both were released on unsecured bond to await a preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday in Homer City District Court.

Man cited

State police reported Vincent Cottman, of Indiana, punched Ronald Seachrist, of Homer City, between 10:30 and 10:42 a.m. Aug. 25 in the off-campus Thomas Hall apartment building along Pratt Drive.

Cottman was cited with a summary count of harassment.



Brittany Vrana, 20, of Blairsville, was charged Tuesday by state police at Indiana with retail theft, a summary offense.

According to police, Vrana took $60 worth of lottery tickets and failed to pay for them at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 22 at Kwik Fill along Route 119.



State police reported someone driving a dark-colored pickup truck drove on the grass at Susan Craft’s property at 1150 Clymer Road at 4:52 p.m. Aug. 30 and caused $5 of damage.



Someone tried to break into the residence of Cameron Buterbaugh at 6694 Route 240 at 12:18 a.m. Aug. 4, causing $400 of damage, according to a state police news release issued Thursday.


Della Solley, 35, of Cherry Tree, and Richard Faber, 60, of Clymer, choked each other during an altercation at 7:20 p.m. Aug. 19 at 430 Valley Road near Commodore, state police at Indiana reported.

Troopers filed summary citations on Aug. 28 charging each with harassment.



State police reported James Neal II, of West Mifflin, Allegheny County, shoved Savanna Hoffman, no address given, at 1:59 p.m. Aug. 22 when they met to exchange their child at the parking lot of Resort Plaza. Neal, 29, was cited with a summary count of harassment.


Drug arrest

Tressa Lewis, 33, of Nanty Glo, was lodged Tuesday at Cambria County Jail after being charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, state police reported.

Troopers at Ebensburg found Lewis in possession of suspected heroin at 4:15 p.m. Aug. 23 on Red Mill Road, according to a news release.

A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 19 in Ebensburg District Court. District Judge Frederick Creany set bail at $5,000.


Roger Brown, 26, of Ebensburg, was cited with public drunkenness and scattering rubbish at 3:48 p.m. Aug. 23 on Route 422 in Belsano, state police at Ebensburg reported.

Minutes later — at 3:55 p.m. — troopers cited Brown and four others: Daniel Anderson, 40, of Ebensburg; Chance Griffon, 26, of Northern Cambria; Anthony Evanicsko, 23, of Ebensburg; and Robin Brown, 51, of Ebensburg, with criminal trespass. Investigators reported the group drove on posted property along Vic Miller Road.


Citation issued

Tara Miller, 33, of Punxsutawney, was cited with public drunkenness at 7:24 p.m. Aug. 25 at Sycamore and Pine streets, state police at Punxsutawney reported.



Someone ripped down a temporary horse stall belonging to Mary Dillon on Aug. 12 at 6194 Route 982, according to state police at Greensburg.



John Kennedy, of Shelocta, was charged Aug. 19 by state police at Kittanning with simple assault and harassment, in connection with an altercation involving a 46-year-old woman from Shelocta between 6:12 and 7:50 p.m. that date in a residence along Route 156.

Kennedy, 48, was held in lieu of bail for eight days at Armstrong County Jail then was released on unsecured bond to await a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 19 in Rural Valley District Court.


Weapons offense

Robin Fulmer, of Elderton, was found in possession of a 9 mm pistol with an obliterated serial number at 1:19 p.m. Aug. 19 in her residence along Route 422, state police reported.

Fulmer, 30, was charged by troopers at Kittanning with a felony of possession of a firearm with an altered manufacturer number and a summary count of disorderly conduct.

Online court records show Fulmer was detained for three days at Armstrong County Jail then waived her right to a preliminary hearing. She was freed after posting $1,500 bond to await adjudication in Armstrong County Court.
